Beats Teases Upcoming Pokemon Portable Pill Speaker: Gotta Hear ‘Em All
Pikachu, we see you.
Beats by Dre has given fans a glimpse of an upcoming collaboration involving Pokemon characters on their Pill Bluetooth speakers. While details remain scarce, the teaser video features electrical charges flashing in yellow and purple over a shrouded Beats Pill, accompanied by the Pokemon Poke Ball logo and the Beats by Dre "b" logo.
The inclusion of yellow sparks in the video has led to speculation that the new speaker may be themed around Pikachu, the iconic yellow Pokemon. Tech site 9to5Toys also noted that the purple flashes could hint at a potential theme involving another purple character like Mewtwo, Gengar, or Ditto. Although Beats has not disclosed a release date, Apple's upcoming Welcome Home event, scheduled for Tuesday, could provide more information, as the company acquired Beats by Dre for $3 billion in 2014.
The Beats Pill speaker, available in non-Pokemon designs for $129 at Target and Amazon, has received praise for its sound quality and battery life.
