Ziope undertakes initiative to build a technologically inclined community, commissions self-help ICT lab

The Chiefs and inhabitants of Ziope, located in the Agotime Ziope District of Ghana's Volta Region, have embarked on an initiative to create a technologically advanced community. This undertaking culminated in the inauguration of an extensively equipped self-help Information and Communication Technology (ICT) laboratory for the local primary school. The lab is designed to offer hands-on training to students, moving beyond the previous reliance on theoretical instruction supported by illustrations on blackboards.

Organized under the auspices of Dufia, Togbe Kpoduave Ahiagba IV, the Ngoryiza Community Development Initiative was formed in 2024 to garner resources for the area's development. Recognizing the crucial role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the modern world, funds from the 2025 celebrations were allocated towards the creation of the ICT laboratory.

At the inauguration ceremony, Togbe Kpoduave Ahiagba IV commended the community's dedication to initiatives that improve residents' wellbeing. This included their contributions towards constructing four nurses' quarters to accommodate healthcare professionals stationed at the community health center, thereby enhancing healthcare delivery in the region.

He also praised Rev Mensah Djokoto for donating forty desktop computers for the proposed ICT lab. The facility, which boasts an air conditioning system, robotic logistics, and an internet connection, is currently under construction.
