LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - OCTOBER 10: In a shocking turn of events at UFC Vegas 122 LIVE on Paramount+, Georgian bantamweight Otari Tanzilovi delivered a devastating second-round knockout (head kick and punches) to former Contender Series star Malcolm Wellmaker. Despite Wellmaker's recent move to American Top Team to reinvigorate his bantamweight stock, he could not overcome Tanzilovi's relentless aggression.
The Georgian prospect dominated from the start, using his striking to create openings and earning valuable control time with effective takedowns. While Wellmaker briefly managed to pressure Tanzilovi early, it was Tanzilovi who capitalized with a powerful right head kick to the skull. This strike sent Wellmaker crashing to the canvas, and the referee quickly stopped the fight.
