Two missing after vessel carrying 11 Indians hit by drone off Oman
A tanker with 11 Indian crew members was hit by a drone attack off Oman, and two of them are missing while nine have been rescued.
The drone attack on a tanker off the coast of Oman has left two Indian seafarers missing, while nine others have been rescued. The incident occurred on Sunday when a vessel carrying 11 Indian crew members came under attack off the coast of Sohar Anchorage. The Union minister of ports, shipping and waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, reported that search-and-rescue operations by the local Coast Guard are actively underway.
The Indian Embassy in Muscat is closely monitoring the situation and in continuous contact with the concerned authorities. Recent tensions in the Middle East have heightened safety concerns for Indians in the region, as evidenced by the attack on Riyadh airport and the subsequent death of an Indian national.
