Former Negeri Sembilan Chief Minister and PH state chairman Aminuddin Harun addressed the DAP State Convention in Seremban, lamenting the lack of an Executive Committee (Exco) in the state. He argued that the absence of an Exco hampers crucial investments and business opportunities that require state government approval, as key decisions pertaining to the basic foundations and approvals continue to be delayed.
The state has been without an Exco since 20 September, following the removal of all 10 MMKN members from their posts for breaching their oath of office. This came after they had previously expressed support for the declaration to remove Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as Yang di-Pertuan Besar. However, Ismail Lasim, the Chief Minister, maintained that the state could present the 2027 state budget without an Exco, as the government can provide budget allocations from the state departments to the Dewan Undangan Negeri.
Aminuddin expressed disappointment that the state's administration had lost power despite noting numerous achievements, while blaming attacks against the DAP and exploiting ethnic issues by BN and PN. He urged the PH in Negeri Sembilan to strengthen its coalition, secure existing parliamentary seats, and win more seats in the 2016 PRU.
He suggested that they should target the Tampin, Kuala Pilah, and Rembau parliamentary seats. The people of Negeri Sembilan, he stated, were witnessing what was happening and he was confident they could assess who could fulfill responsibilities and who was merely good at speaking but failed to take responsibility. They still had time.
They should continue their efforts and ensure they could win the upcoming PRU and increase their seat count.
