Pennington accounts for 6 TDs, Graves adds 100-yard KO return to help Northern Arizona beat Montana
(AP) — Ty Pennington accounted for six touchdowns, Lindsey Graves scored on a 100-yard kickoff return, and Northern Arizona beat Montana 49-44 on Saturday. Northern Arizona (5-2, 3-1 Big Sky Conference), ranked 10th in the Stats Perform poll, beat No.
Ty Pennington led Northern Arizona to a 49-44 victory over No. 2 Montana on Saturday, contributing six touchdowns. Lindsey Graves added another highlight with a 100-yard kickoff return. This marked Northern Arizona's first win against a Top-5 ranked opponent since November 2015, ending a streak of eight consecutive losses to such teams.
Pennington's 5-yard touchdown run extended the Lumberjacks' lead to 49-39 with mere minutes remaining on the clock. Lindsey Graves' 35-yard field goal narrowed the gap to 49-42. Ultimately, Pennington sealed the win with three additional touchdowns, all coming from short yardage. Montana's Keali'i Ah Yat completed 29 of 39 passes for 347 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to overcome Northern Arizona's resilient performance.
