Pakistan condemns Houthi attack on Riyadh airport

Islamabad: Pakistan vehemently denounced the recent terrorist assault on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh by the Houthi militia, reaffirming its unwavering dedication to Saudi Arabia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and regional stability, a Foreign Office spokesperson declared on Sunday. "The assault on a civilian airport is a monstrous act of terrorism, a blatant breach of international law, and a severe threat to regional peace and security.

Pakistan voices its deep apprehension about the reported fatalities and injuries stemming from the attack. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families. We offer our heartfelt sympathies to the mourning families and pray for the speedy and full recovery of the injured," the spokesperson added. The spokesperson emphasized that the persistent targeting of civilians and crucial infrastructure by the Houthi militia is utterly intolerable and must be unequivocally condemned by the global community.

"Such brazen and indiscriminate acts of aggression cannot be rationalized under any pretext and must cease forthwith. Pakistan remains steadfast in its solidarity with the leadership and people of the fraternal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia amidst these repeated terrorist attacks," it was reiterated. In line with the Makkah Agreement for Joint Defence and recent decisions of its Strategic, Political, and Defence Committee, the spokesperson reiterated Pakistan's firm and unyielding commitment to Saudi Arabia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and stability.

"Pakistan unequivocally supports the Kingdom's lawful right to safeguard its territory, protect its populace, and shield its cities and vital infrastructure from all threats and acts of aggression. Pakistan urges the Houthi militia to cease its terrorist operations immediately and entreats the international community to adopt a resolute and unequivocal stance against such acts that endanger innocent lives and jeopardize regional stability.

Pakistan will continue to stand side by side with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, resolute in its commitment to the Kingdom's sovereignty, security, and defense," the spokesperson concluded.
