Mourinho’s Press Conference Absence Leaves Ban Question Open

Jose Mourinho's absence from Real Madrid's post-match press conference following their 1-0 victory over Villarreal has sparked speculation regarding potential disciplinary action. Reports suggest Mourinho feared speaking about the game could result in him being barred from managing in upcoming La Liga matches against Sevilla and Barcelona.

However, no official sanction has been confirmed. The red card shown to Vinícius Júnior during the second half dominated the aftermath and reportedly infuriated the Real Madrid manager. Mourinho stayed away from the press conference, with some accounts claiming he believed comments about the officiating could lead to a suspension, while others suggest he was protecting his availability for the next matches.

Real Madrid's recent history with domestic disciplinary matters is highlighted, but no direct link to this incident has been established. The lack of a confirmed sanction leaves the possibility of a ban as the primary reason for Mourinho's decision, rather than a confirmed outcome.
