Maxx Crosby goes viral for pregame outfit ahead of Patriots game
Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby was seen wearing a Boston Celtics jersey when walking the tunnel at Gillette Stadium.
Las Vegas Raiders star edge rusher Maxx Crosby caused a stir on social media ahead of the Raiders' game against the New England Patriots. The defensive playmaker was spotted in Gillette Stadium, wearing a Larry Bird Boston Celtics jersey during the team's pregame tunnel walk. This unexpected choice of attire generated buzz among fans and commentators alike.
Throughout the offseason, Crosby had been linked to the New England Patriots as a potential trade target due to their need for an edge rusher. However, the deal ultimately fell through after a failed physical. The Patriots face a formidable challenge in containing Crosby, who boasts five Pro Bowl selections and two All-Pro honors during his career.
Former LSU standout Will Campbell, who faced Crosby in their first encounter last season, noted that the veteran edge rusher has significantly matured since then. Crosby's matchup against Patriots quarterback Drake Maye could be pivotal in determining the outcome of the game. Maye has been known for his loose and confident throwing style throughout the season, making him susceptible to pressure from Crosby if he is able to free up in the offensive backfield.
Social media reactions to Crosby's unique pregame outfit were largely positive. Fans praised the Raiders defensive end for his respect and appreciation of Celtics icon Larry Bird, while also expressing their desire for him to join the Patriots themselves.
