Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior may be banned from the upcoming El Clasico against Barcelona due to a red card he received during the match against Villarreal. The incident occurred in the second half after Vinicius Jr scored what he believed to be his team's second goal. However, he was subsequently sent off after pulling Nathan Saliba's hair.
Referee Isidro Diaz de Mera used the VAR system to review the incident and ultimately dismissed Vinicius Jr. The Brazilian player reacted with anger, storming off and pleading his case to the officials. Pending the referee's report, Vinicius Jr could be suspended, potentially missing both the first Clasico of the season against Barcelona on October 25 and Real Madrid's match against Sevilla the following week.
