Kejayaan Anggaran 2027 heavily relies on improving citizens' incomes, quality job opportunities, and alleviating living costs, according to Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, the National Pardahan Chief of the PN party. While the RM459.8 billion budget showcases a strong commitment to spending, managing the growing debt service ratio demands a continued strengthening of fiscal discipline and budget management.

Of the RM459.8 billion allocated, RM376.8 billion is for administration expenses and RM83 billion for development spending. With debt service ratios reaching RM61 billion, strict fiscal discipline and budget management are crucial to ensure the nation's financial strength in the long term, he said in a statement. The remaining RM50.2 billion, involving investments in government-related entities and public-private partnerships, also needs close monitoring to assess its economic benefits and financial commitments.

The Terengganu Chief Minister also welcomed the cash assistance program Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and the basic citizen subsidy SARA, as well as the initiative to increase workers' incomes. However, the long-term priority must be raising citizens' purchasing power, creating equal job opportunities, and strengthening local businesses.

Under the 2027 budget, all STR beneficiaries will receive SARA assistance of up to RM150 per month in 2027 or RM1,800 yearly. This move follows the increase in the number of beneficiaries for both schemes to RM16 billion in 2027 from RM15 billion previously. The government also announced raising the minimum wage from RM1,700 to RM2,000 per month starting June 2027, benefiting over four million workers.
