Actor Shobhan Satyaa, who portrays Neem Karoli Baba in the devotional film Hanuman Ansh, has lauded Flydubai pilot Captain Smit Machchhar's courage. The pilot recounted drawing strength from chanting the Hanuman Chalisa during a midair incident, a story that has touched the hearts of many devotees. Hanuman Ansh, a film made on a budget of Rs2 crore, has earned Rs400 crore globally, surpassing other hits like 3 Idiots, Kantara and Krrish 3.
When Machchhar approached Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with his account, it sparked a renewed interest in the Hanuman Chalisa. Satyaa, speaking at an India Today event, shared how such acts of bravery often seem distant, as if they belong to another time. However, incidents like Machchhar's serve as a reminder that courage and conviction are still present in everyday life.
The pilot's experience has also reignited interest in the devotional tradition explored in Hanuman Ansh, which follows the spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba.
