Golden State Valkyries guard Tiffany Hayes is no stranger to pivotal moments. At 37 years old, the veteran knows exactly what to do when the pressure is at its heaviest. Whether it's blitzing her way to the cup or hyping up her teammates, Hayes has been a driving force behind the Valkyries' historic run to the WNBA Finals. After a hard-fought Game 3 victory over the Las Vegas Aces, Hayes couldn't help but express her disbelief and elation at their achievement.
"Man, oh my gosh, Amazing. This is-it’s really surreal," she told ClutchPoints, her eyes wide open with wonder. Golden State's run to the Finals marks their second year in the league, and it's all thanks to the hard work, resilience, and determination of Hayes and the rest of the team. The Valkyries' historic run is a testament to the power of taking a leap of faith, as Hayes did when she joined the team.
Coach Natalie Nakase had faith in Hayes' abilities, and her leap of faith has paid off in a big way. Hayes credits her teammates, especially closer Gabby Williams, for their crucial contributions to the team's success. Despite the ups and downs of the season, Hayes remains grateful for the opportunity to be part of this historic run.
