The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Pune Division recently carried out raids on 25 establishments suspected of selling sub-standard, unsafe, and wrongly labeled edible oil. As a result of the operation, authorities confiscated 74,612 kg of edible oil valued at Rs 1.29 crore. The Garden Wada Pav centre in Gawali Wada, Camp was also under scrutiny during the raid on October 9, where 358 kg of substandard groundnut oil was seized.

Another establishment, Praj Traders at Marketyard, had 3176.8 kg of suspected substandard groundnut oil seized. The FDA inspected establishments across five districts of Pune Division - Pune, Sangli, Solapur, Satara, and Kolhapur. All the seized samples will be sent to the laboratory for analysis, and further legal action will be taken after receiving the reports.
