ConnectEd launches online English-speaking community for Jewish educators

Initially developed for Hebrew-speaking educators, the form offers webinars, peer learning, working groups, and collaborative projects for Israel's English-speaking community.

ConnectEd, a global network for educators in Jewish education, has introduced an English-speaking community featuring author and scholar Dara Horn. This online platform, established by the Koret Center for Jewish Civilization in partnership with ANU – Museum of the Jewish People and Tel Aviv University, has already gathered over 900 educators and education professionals from around the world in just one year.

Originally designed for Hebrew-speaking educators, the platform now offers webinars, peer learning, working groups, and collaborative projects, leveraging the expertise of university faculty and ANU's educational resources.

Oded Revivi, CEO of ANU, emphasized that Jewish educators play a crucial role in fostering a strong sense of Jewish belonging. Naama Klar, the director of ANU's Koret International School for Jewish Peoplehood, noted that the rapid growth of the network reflects the demand among educators to discuss questions of Jewish identity and belonging, especially in light of recent events. The English-speaking community bridges this gap by providing a space for anglophone educators to engage in meaningful dialogue.

The platform was inaugurated by Dara Horn, author of "The Final Solution to the Jewish Question: A Love Story for the Living" and founder of the Tell Institute. In her introductory webinar, "How to Bring the Story of the Jewish People to Our Students and Communities," Horn urged participants to approach contemporary discourse with curiosity and courage, while discussing the importance of understanding and addressing antisemitism. She emphasized that antisemitism is fundamentally a lie used to gain or maintain power.
