Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar witnessed two fire incidents in the Waluj area on Saturday evening. The first incident involved a large stock of plastic granules engulfed in flames at a closed factory, Sudarshan Plast. The blaze rapidly intensified, engulfing both the factory shed and the stored granules. Firefighters from the MIDC fire brigade arrived at the scene and managed to control the inferno after an hour-long effort.
The second incident took place in Bajaj Nagar, close to the Gajanan Maharaj Temple in Vishwa Vijay Housing Society. A short circuit triggered a fire in an electrical distribution transformer (DP). Residents initially tried to extinguish the flames but eventually called for help when they were unable to control the blaze. Firefighters responded swiftly and managed to contain the fire within 10 minutes, preventing it from spreading further. The exact cause of the short circuit remains to be ascertained.
