Asustor Lockerstor 2 Gen2+ AS6702T v2 review
The Asustor Lockerstor 2 Gen2+ AS6702T v2 is a sturdy two-bay NAS with dual 5GbE ports and four M.2 slots let down by an ageing Intel chip and high price.
Asustor AS6702T v2 is a two-bay NAS device from the storage arm of Asus. Priced at $517/£486/€616, it is available now from online retailers including Amazon and Newegg. The device features two 5GbE ports, a Celeron N5105 processor, and 4GB of RAM. It also includes four M.2 slots, two SATA bays, HDMI output, and USB ports. The NAS runs on ADM 5.1 and supports RAID modes on both SATA and M.2 volumes.
Its build is metal, and it has a 70mm fan for cooling. The NAS is considered more specialized than entry-level models for those who require speed and flexibility. Despite its higher price, it is not considered a bargain as there are cheaper alternatives available with better specifications.
