Artemis Fowl Animated TV Show Greenlit With Eoin Colfer as Executive Producer
Artemis Fowl is coming back to TV screens in the form of an animated show on Disney Channel and Disney+.
In a recent announcement at the 25th Anniversary of Artemis Fowl panel at New York Comic Con 2026, author Eoin Colfer confirmed that Disney had greenlit an animated TV show based on his fantasy novels. Colfer will serve as an executive producer for the show, bringing his creative vision to delve deeper into the characters and lore of the beloved series.
Alongside Colfer, Ben Juwono from Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and Colleen Evanson, who worked on DuckTales, will also be executive producers. Colfer expressed pride and delight in joining the talented team behind the Artemis Fowl animation. The series, set to release in the future, will not be the first attempt at bringing the property to Disney+; a live-action movie was released in 2020, but it received poor reviews, with only 8% of critics and 19% of audiences giving it a favorable rating.
The Artemis Fowl animated series revolves around 13-year-old genius Artemis Fowl, who discovers an underground world of armed and high-tech fairies and embarks on a mission to capture one and steal its magic to heal his ailing mother and save his family. The original book series, published in 2001, has sold more than 35 million copies worldwide.
At NYCC 2026, other announcements included Godzilla Minus Zero, Blade Runner 2099, and additional Naruto content.
