Al-Ahli defender Ibanez: Our goal is to overcome Al-Wasl, coach to decide my participation

Al-Ahli defender Roger Ibanez has stated that his team's primary objective in their upcoming AFC Champions League Elite (West Zone) match against Al-Wasl on Monday is to secure a victory. This is particularly crucial for the Saudi side, as they aim to rebound from their disappointing draw in the opening round at home. Speaking to Ajel, Ibanez emphasized the team's determination, stating, "Tomorrow's match is extremely important for us, especially after our draw in the first round at home in front of our fans.

We are entering the game with a clear goal: to claim all three points and achieve our first victory. We have the capabilities and are fully prepared, and we promise our supporters to give everything we have to secure the win."

Regarding his fitness, Ibanez disclosed that he sustained a minor injury during the match against Sundowns, which caused him to miss the last two games. However, he is now feeling much improved, and his appearance in the match will ultimately be determined by the coaching staff. Historically, Al-Ahli boasts a strong record against Emirati clubs, with 14 wins, 5 losses, and 8 draws in previous encounters.
