URC result: Rampant Bulls blow Lions away at Loftus Versfeld
A powerful first half performance from the Bulls set the platform for a monster URC win over the Lions.
The Springbok-inspired Bulls dominated the Lions 57-15 in the United Rugby Championship's cross-Jukskei derby at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday. The home side scored nine tries to two as they bounced back impressively from their recent loss to Munster in Ireland. The Lions, while starting strong, faltered in crucial moments, with poor finishes to both halves costing them heavily.
The Bulls capitalized on this, scoring four tries in the last 15 minutes of the first half and three in the final 12 minutes of the second to seal a convincing victory. The match saw the Bulls first break the deadlock in the 10th minute, followed by four more tries in the closing minutes of the first half, leading to a 31-10 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Bulls maintained their pressure, adding three more tries to extend their lead to 50-15.
