TUDA accelerating development to meet future needs, says Chairman

Addressing the media, Divakar Reddy says comprehensive plans are being implemented to position Tirupati as top district in the State

TUDA Chairman C. Divakar Reddy announced that the Tirupati Urban Development Authority is expanding its reach to include Chandragiri, Tirupati, Srikalahasti, and Nagari constituencies. This expansion aims to accelerate development to accommodate the growing needs of the region, said Divakar Reddy at a press conference in the Tirupati Press Club. The plans were announced in coordination with local MLAs and under the guidance of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Minister.

Divakar Reddy highlighted the development of state-of-the-art roads, drainage systems, and street lighting to support the large number of pilgrims visiting Tirupati. This includes the construction of eight major Master Plan roads spanning 19 km at a cost of ₹200 crore. Wide roads of 80-100 feet are being built in the Shettipalli area, with the layout expected to be completed within three months.

Additionally, a ₹90 crore road project is underway to address traffic and parking concerns at Tiruchanur temple, which sees about 50,000 visitors daily. The project will create dedicated parking areas and a special corridor to prevent congestion.

A 100-foot-wide, 6.8-km-long greenfield road is being constructed to link the Madanapalle-Tirupati and Tirupati-Bengaluru highways, running from Kalyani Dam via Rangampeta, Kotala, and Aitepalli. Water supply plans have also been finalized to ensure a steady flow from Peruru Tank to Avilala Tank, with a budget of ₹30 crore.
