Connecting systems is the easy part. The hard part is predictable behavior. The same request should do the same thing every time. Edge cases should fail the same way twice. Permissions should hold under pressure, not just in the demo. Error handling should tell you what happened, not just that something did. Which of these breaks first when you connect a new system.
