Sanju Samson returned to form against West Indies, equaling the impressive batting records of Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh. The Kerala wicketkeeper-batter smashed 82 runs off just 41 balls, including nine fours and four sixes. Samson achieved the fastest T20I fifty by an Indian against West Indies, reaching his half-century in just 21 balls.
He also matched Yuvraj Singh's tally of five T20I half-centuries scored at a strike rate of 200 or above, with both players now having five such innings. Despite Samson's efforts, India suffered a six-wicket defeat, with West Indies' captain Shai Hope and Sherfane Rutherford posting an unbeaten 102 and 84 runs, respectively. The visitors reached 252/4 in just 18.3 overs, completing the second-highest successful run chase in men's T20 international history. The victory leveled the five-match series at 1-1.
