Naidu’s promise of reservations to Backwards Classes is a fraud: Jagan

YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of deceiving Backward Classes (BCs) with promises of reservations. Jagan stated on social media that Naidu's "Super Six" promises were exposed as fraudulent by the Supreme Court, and that the cancellation of schemes under the YSRCP Government was another deceit.

The coalition government's promise of 143 initiatives was also called a "biggest deception," he added. The Supreme Court dismissed the Andhra Pradesh government's plea against the High Court's judgment on reservations for BCs in elections to rural and urban local bodies. The High Court had earlier struck down G.O. Nos. 105 and 1065, which sought to provide a 34% reservation to BCs in Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) and a 33.33% quota in ULBs, citing the 50% threshold imposed by the Supreme Court.
