McLaren tells Norris and Piastri to park their egos after 'unacceptable' Singapore collision

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has warned teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri to put aside their egos after a collision during the Singapore Grand Prix sprint race. The incident occurred on the final lap when Norris made an ambitious overtake attempt for fourth place, but made contact with Piastri, causing both cars to spin.

As a result, Norris dropped to eighth place and Piastri did not finish the race, resulting in McLaren earning only one point instead of the usual nine. After the frustrating day, Stella addressed the issue with both drivers. He emphasized that it is unacceptable for two McLarens to collide on the track and reiterated that the team's interests must always come first.

Norris later admitted he was reprimanded over the incident and defended his move, believing it was a valid attempt to overtake. The stewards did not penalize Norris for causing the collision, as both drivers were found to have contributed to it. Despite the setback, Norris qualified fifth and Piastri seventh in qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix.
