Happy's Place Star Belissa Escobedo Appeared In The American Horror Story Spin-Off
Before playing the bubbly and opinionated Isabella on Happy's Place, Belissa Escobedo had a two-episode role on a very different show, American Horror Stories.
Belissa Escobedo, known for her role as Isabella on Happy Place, made her debut in the American Horror Stories Season 1. In her episodes "Rubber (wo)Man: Part One" and "Part Two," she portrayed Shanti, Scarlett Winslow's best friend. Shanti's character was pivotal in Scarlett's transformation into the murderous Rubber Woman. Despite her success in Happy Place, Escobedo revealed that horror is her preferred genre.
In a 2024 interview with Teen Vogue, she expressed her disappointment when Shanti's death was changed after the writers felt she was playing the character too sweetly. The actress also starred as Izzy in the 1993 Halloween sequel Hocus Pocus, playing one of two teenagers who bring the Sanderson sisters back to life. Escobedo, a Halloween enthusiast since childhood, cherished the experience of playing Izzy alongside Bette Midler as Winifred.
