'Dozen' sought after man's gruesome stabbing death

Police are searching for approximately a dozen individuals following the gruesome stabbing death of a man in Mt Druitt, western Sydney. Officers were dispatched to Cleeve Close around 9pm on Friday following reports of an assault. Upon arrival, they found a man in his 30s stabbed in the torso and provided assistance until paramedics arrived.

Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts, prompting police to issue a public appeal for help on Saturday. CCTV footage revealed a group of several men walking along the street before an altercation erupted, with one man throwing a punch and being chased by three others who retaliated with their own attacks.

Superintendent Brendan Gorman of the Blacktown police district stated that detectives are open to multiple possibilities and are actively searching for around a dozen people in the vicinity at the time of the incident. Various items were collected at the scene, with the attack taking place using a bladed weapon. The exact nature of the weapon remains to be determined following a post-mortem examination.

The circumstances leading up to the stabbing are still unclear, and it is still unknown whether the murder was random or targeted. At present, the deceased appears to have had some history with police, and possible gangland connections are being investigated. Police have seized CCTV and mobile phone videos as evidence, and they are urging the public to come forward with any information or footage that could aid their investigation.
