AB de Villiers smashes 16 sixes, scores 181 in two WCL matches

Dubai witnessed an extraordinary display of batting prowess as AB de Villiers smashed 16 sixes and scored 181 runs across two matches of the World Championship of Legends (WCL). The South African cricket legend, who retired from international cricket in 2018, once again proved that his explosive batting form is still very much alive.

De Villiers opened the scoring for South Africa Champions with a blistering 70 runs off just 39 balls against West Indies Champions. He smashed five sixes and four fours, displaying his knack for dominating bowlers even after hanging up his international cap. In his subsequent innings, de Villiers once again showcased his destructive batting style, dispatching 111 runs off 40 deliveries, with six sixes and four fours.

This staggering back-to-back performance highlighted the timing, power, and range that made de Villiers one of cricket's most feared batters during his international career. Known as 'Mr 360' for his ability to score shots around the ground, de Villiers' batting style has remained a constant throughout his illustrious career, despite retiring from professional international cricket in 2018.

De Villiers, who played 114 Tests, 228 one-day internationals, and 78 T20 internationals for South Africa, was also a celebrated performer in franchise cricket, particularly in the Indian Premier League (IPL) while playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. After South Africa's victories in their first two matches, the team will face India Champions on Saturday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

With the addition of South Africa Champions to the tournament, cricket fans can once again look forward to witnessing the mesmerizing performances of this batting maestro.
