Karachi witnessed the launch of an animated children's series titled "YAHYA-The Lion of AQSA" on Thursday, in honor of Youm-i-Toofan al-Aqsa. The first episode of the three-minute production, created in Urdu, Arabic, and English, was showcased at a local shopping center. Prominent figures present at the inaugural event included Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi's chief Monem Zafar Khan, and Grand Mufti of Gaza Dr Mahmoud Yousuf Al-Shoubki.
Taufiquddin Siddiqui, JI Karachi Secretary, played a pivotal role in the series' production. The series, as per the organizers, intends to inspire children to support the fight for the liberation of Al-Quds and Palestine from Israeli occupation.
The event drew a sizable crowd, including families with women and children, with the main hall fully occupied. Speaking to the media, Monem Zafar remarked that October 7, 2023, marked a significant day and milestone in the resistance movement of the Gaza people. He highlighted Toofan al-Aqsa as a turning point when, despite facing a technologically superior occupying force, the people of Gaza demonstrated that no force could overcome the power of faith and resistance spirit.
The launch of "YAHYA-The Lion of AQSA" series, according to Zafar, emphasized the struggle, resistance, and sacrifices of the Gaza people.
Zafar further explained that the series would familiarize the younger generation with Al-Quds, the first Qibla for Muslims, and the resistance movement Hamas. He emphasized that the liberation of Baitul Maqdas from occupation is a matter of faith. He voiced hope that the sacrifices of the Gaza and Palestine people would not be in vain, and Al-Quds would eventually be liberated. The ceremony commenced with the national anthem playing. The screening of the series will continue until Sunday, October 11.
