White House announces Katie Zacharia as new spokesperson. US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that Zacharia will deliver strong results for the nation as the new Press Secretary of the White House on his Truth Social platform. Zacharia succeeds Karoline Leavitt, who resigned unexpectedly at the end of August. Leavitt had served as the youngest Press Secretary in the history of the White House, stepping down after giving birth to her second child in May, citing that she could not dedicate the necessary time, energy and focus required for the role as a mother.

Zacharia, a conservative jurist and firm supporter of Trump, had assisted him during his campaign and supported him in key swing states. She had previously worked as a communications consultant for Trump Media & Technology Group, served as deputy spokesperson for the US Department of Homeland Security and commented on Trump's Fox News and Newsmax.

Zacharia graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu with a bachelor's degree in political science and law from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law.
