Tamil Nadu CM Vijay hails TVK’s bypoll wins as victory for people, political decorum
In a statement on X, Mr. Vijay claimed the TVK had won without distributing money to voters or resorting to inducements
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay praised his party's wins in the Madurantakam and Dharapuram Assembly bypolls, stating they were victories for the people and "political decorum". He thanked voters for their support and criticized allegations of political deals, mocking his two-day campaign in each constituency. Vijay claimed the TVK could have done better in the April Assembly election if the DMK government had allowed him to campaign statewide.
He expressed gratitude to alliance partners, party functionaries, and cadres for their efforts during the campaign, emphasizing the victory was a response to derogatory remarks, personal attacks, and the betrayal of leaders.
