RM1 bilion untuk projek perumahan, SJKP jamin pembiayaan RM20 bilion

Four new residential projects will be carried out in Kulai, Johor; Nilai, Negeri Sembilan; Paya Rumput, Melaka; and Lembah Pertang, Terengganu. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that almost RM1 billion will be allocated to these citizen housing projects under the 2027 Budget, including Rumah Mesra Rakyat and the People's Residency Program.

The Perdana Menteri also unveiled the development of Bandar Madani Bukit Jalil, a residential area equipped with facilities such as vertical schools. "Registration for Phase 1 will open on Monday," he stated as he presented the 2027 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat. Meanwhile, the Home Loan Guarantee Scheme (SJKP) provides home loan guarantees up to RM20 billion to assist 80,000 first-time homebuyers, particularly those who are self-employed and do not have a steady income.

This measure aims to address the issue of affordability, especially for individuals facing difficulties in obtaining housing financing through conventional channels. The REACH organization urged the government to introduce incentives to encourage more people to live together or in proximity to their parents, with the aim of facilitating family care for the elderly while reducing the risk of the elderly living alone without family support.
