Jaipur, October 9, 2026: In response to its recent defeat in Rajasthan's urban local body elections, the Congress has chosen to bolster its campaign for the upcoming panchayat elections by deploying senior leaders such as Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot, and other prominent party figures. This strategy deviation from the previous approach of entrusting local leaders with the primary campaign duties is aimed at addressing public dissatisfaction with the BJP's alleged misuse of power in urban governance.
The party's campaign committee, led by Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, includes not only the aforementioned senior leaders but also a host of other district-level party stalwarts. This shift in strategy reflects the party's intention to fortify its grassroots campaign while fostering closer coordination between state-level leadership and local organizations.
