Quetta Gladiators Expand Into European Cricket

Pakistan Super League franchise Quetta Gladiators have ventured into European cricket with the establishment of Rome Gladiators for the Italia T10 League. The ownership agreement was signed in Karachi, with Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar and Italia T10 League representative Aamir Akhtar. The six-team tournament will be held in Rome in November.

The Gladiators identity will be carried over to the Italian competition through Rome Gladiators, featuring local Italian players alongside four international cricketers. Efforts will be made to provide young Pakistani players opportunities in the league. The move expands the Gladiators brand beyond the PSL into European franchise cricket.

The Italia T10 League, Italy's first city-based franchise T10 competition, is officially endorsed by the Italian Cricket Federation (FCRI). Each team plays 10 overs per innings, with matches lasting around 90 minutes. The league aims to increase exposure for local players and elevate cricket standards in Italy, with international broadcast coverage expected in over 30 countries.
