QSW to promote sustainable practices across Qatar

Doha, Qatar - The 11th annual Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) is scheduled to run from October 31 to November 7, 2026. This initiative aims to promote awareness of sustainable practices and motivate individuals and organizations to embrace eco-friendly behaviors and engage in community projects throughout the country.

Since its inception in 2016, QSW has successfully mobilized over 1 million participants in 3,400 events, with the participation of around 2,000 partners. This year, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), in cooperation with Earthna Center for a Sustainable Future, a Qatari Foundation (QF) member, will be organizing the event.

Engineer Ahmed Mohammed Al Sada, Assistant Undersecretary for Climate Change Affairs at the MECC, highlighted that QSW fosters community involvement in environmental conservation and promotes sustainable practices in daily life. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Ministry and Earthna to raise environmental awareness and enhance community engagement across sectors.

Dr. Gonzalo Castro de la Mata, Executive Director of Earthna, expressed his delight at the opportunity to organize this national campaign once again. He noted that the growing enthusiasm and commitment demonstrated by communities across Qatar each year underscore how sustainability is increasingly becoming a shared priority and a collective effort in society.
