Pixel Watch 4 update adds Google’s AI watch face generator, more

Google has rolled out an AI watch face generator update for the Pixel Watch 4, following its debut on the Pixel Watch 5 last year. This update brings several enhancements to the Pixel Watch 4, particularly in AI performance. The most notable addition is the AI watch face generator, a tool designed to simplify the process of creating custom watch faces, particularly for those who like to change their watch face daily.

This feature is part of the version 4.2.12.989940186 update, which also includes stock watch faces from the Pixel Watch 5, such as Weave, Modular, Reveal, and Chronograph, as well as a specialized Steph Curry dial. The generator works by allowing users to input a description of the watch face they want to create through the Pixel Watch app, after which Gemini Intelligence generates a design.

While the tool has its limitations, it represents a significant feature that Google didn't prominently highlight for the Pixel Watch 5. The update is currently being rolled out, so it may take some time for all Pixel Watch 4 users to receive it.
