🎥 Palmeiras keep fans on edge, but beat Bahia and close in on Flamengo

Palmeiras kept fans in suspense as they edged closer to Flamengo in the Brasileirão title race. On Thursday, they defeated Bahia 1-0 at Nubank Parque, moving up to 60 points in the league standings. Palmeiras, however, struggled to capitalize on numerous chances created during the match. Flaco put Palmeiras ahead just seven minutes in, and Verdão dominated proceedings, with the leading scorer Verdão controlling the first half.

Despite creating enough chances to extend their lead before the break, Palmeiras failed to convert. Ronaldo was the standout performer for Palmeiras, while Bahia failed to execute their first-half game plan, leaving them with small margins of error. Carlos Miguel saved a penalty from Erick in the 40th minute, denying Palmeiras a more decisive victory.

Palmeiras flinched from danger but celebrated securing three crucial points. The league standings saw Palmeiras leapfrogging Flamengo, who lead with 61 points, while Bahia remained at 46th place, sixth in the table. Both teams are set to face off again next Sunday, with Verdão taking on Corinthians and Tricolor hosting Mirassol.
