Apple is set to unveil its first-ever touchscreen MacBook and a new iPad mini during a special event in late October, according to reports from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The launch event, scheduled for either October 27, will also see the introduction of Apple's smart home hub, potentially named HomePod mini. The new MacBook, dubbed MacBook Ultra, will sport a touchscreen OLED display with a Dynamic Island, powered by Apple's new M6 chips.
It will come in two sizes – 14 and 16 inches – and cater to creative professionals in video production, photo editing, and music production. This launch is seen as a significant update to the MacBook family since the introduction of the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models in 2021. Additionally, a new iPad mini is expected, featuring Apple's A20 Pro chip, a landscape camera, a new speaker system, and potentially a larger OLED display.
