Obi living in denial over 2023 poll – APC campaign council

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has criticized Labour Party candidate Peter Obi for continuing to claim victory in the 2023 presidential election despite official records confirming President Bola Tinubu's win. In a statement, the council's spokesman, Dele Alake, accused Obi of living in denial and displaying a lack of character and dignity.

Obi's recent remarks on BBC Africa, where he reiterated his claim to victory without providing evidence, were seen as unbecoming of a presidential aspirant. The APC Council emphasized that Tinubu's victory was confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the election tribunal, and the Supreme Court, and called on Obi to act honorably and withdraw from the 2027 presidential race if he cannot do so.
