Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Bandra Terminus saw arriving passengers confront a surprise on Friday when they learned their Delhi-bound train services had been cancelled or rescheduled ahead of a planned protest in Delhi. According to Shivam, a passenger at platform 18, the cancellation came as a shock when he reached the station, leading him to book for a later date.
The Rajdhani Express (22221), operating from Mumbai to Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi, was cancelled for the day due to concerns over heavy traffic congestion around New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations. While some passengers received cancellation alerts on their registered mobile numbers, others only learned of the changes after reaching the station, leading to confusion among passengers already navigating the busy railway hub.
Railway officials advised passengers to check the latest updates before commencing their journeys and assured refunds for cancelled bookings. Passengers holding tickets purchased at reservation counters were asked to approach their nearest Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counter with their original tickets. Passengers faced the immediate challenge of finding alternative arrangements to reach their destinations.
