Smart home accessories co-developed by Apple and LG could include proximity controls and the ability to begin setup before the devices are powered on, according to findings shared by leaker pdfu. The accessories would consist of a thermostat, temperature sensor, deadbolt lock, wired video doorbell, and various security cameras. One feature, called Proximity Control, would display a shortcut when an iPhone is tapped or brought close to the accessory.
On devices without a Dynamic Island or iPads, a notification would remain visible for 30 seconds. This feature, along with pairing starting while unpowered and using NFC, has been identified in iOS 27 code. Apple will debut the accessories at a Home event on October 13.
