Game Thread: Mike Hastings makes return to Minnesota State in ranked matchup with the Mavericks
The Badgers have a tough road trip to start the year.
Head coach Mike Hastings of the Wisconsin Badgers returns to Minnesota State for a ranked matchup against the Mavericks. Hastings, who was the Mavericks head coach from 2012-2023, has had a successful tenure at Wisconsin, leading the team to impressive results and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. This homecoming game will be particularly emotional for Hastings, considering his strong track record at Minnesota State.
The No. 7 Wisconsin Badgers, led by their defensive efforts and strong goaltending, will face off against the No. 19 Minnesota State Mavericks in a highly anticipated showdown. The Badgers aim to capitalize on their strong shot attempts and goal conversion this weekend, while the Mavericks, despite losing their top point producers, will be looking to make their mark in their exhibition game.
The first game is scheduled for Friday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m., followed by a 6:00 p.m. start on Saturday, October 10.
