FBI arrested suspected ShinyHunters co-conspirator, Patel says
FBI Director Kash Patel announced on social media that the bureau has arrested an individual suspected of collaborating with hackers who infiltrated the agency's computer systems. The arrested person is one of two co-conspirators allegedly linked to the criminal gang that claimed responsibility for the breach, according to Patel.
The FBI has not disclosed the arrested individual's identity nor the specific charges filed against them. The hacking group ShinyHunters had claimed in September that they had accessed sensitive FBI personnel information through the career website FBIJobs.gov, including addresses of employees involved in various investigations. FBI representatives have not yet provided further information on the arrest.
