Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has expressed concern over Manchester City's financial case, stating that the situation has raised many questions. As a former teammate of City during their 2011-12 Premier League title-winning season, Carrick admitted to still having questions about the club's alleged breaches of financial regulations.
The independent commission found City guilty of violations between 2009-10 and 2017-18, and the club has since appealed the decision. Carrick emphasized the need for a swift resolution, describing the case as unprecedented and having significant implications for English football. Manchester City's manager, Enzo Maresca, has expressed trust in the club, while the outcome of their appeal remains pending.
