Enzo Maresca says 'feeling is fantastic' at Man City as Haaland urges fans to 'stick together'

Manchester City's Enzo Maresca has expressed his positive outlook as the team prepares to face off against Liverpool on Sunday. The club, which boasts a perfect start to the season with five wins from five Premier League matches, is currently leading the table. However, their upcoming match against Liverpool will be played against the backdrop of a significant financial case, where the club has been found guilty of over 100 breaches of the Premier League's financial rules over a nine-year period.

Despite the mounting pressure, Maresca insists that the team is focused on the football itself, stating, "The feeling is fantastic, to be honest. The players are excited for the next two games, but especially they are excited because in this moment, we are top of the league, so the players are just focused on that." Striker Erling Haaland echoed Maresca's sentiments, urging fans to "stick together" and maintain positivity, stating, "No matter what happens in life, we always have to have a smile.

We have to stay positive, look ahead and try to win football games and try to enjoy the situation and win the game." At Anfield, an intimidating venue for City, a victory would not only halt their perfect start but also provide a significant lift for Liverpool, who have had a less convincing opening to their title defense. The result, however, will be viewed through the lens of the financial case, with the appeal process ongoing and sanctions still to be determined.
