Diia app adds online service to terminate employment in occupied territories

Ukraine's Diia government services app has added an online service allowing people to terminate their employment in temporarily occupied territories, the Digital Transformation Ministry said.

Ukraine's Diia government services app has introduced an online feature enabling individuals to terminate their employment in areas temporarily occupied by Russian forces, according to the Digital Transformation Ministry. To utilize this service, users need to navigate to the Services section within Diia, choose Obrii.Work, and then proceed to Termination of employment in temporarily occupied territories.

After verifying their employment information, completing and reviewing the application, and signing it via Diia.Signature, the ministry reported in a Telegram post. Processing of these applications will occur automatically through the Obrii system within a single working day, after which users will receive a notification in the app, as per the ministry's statement.

Since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion, 11,700 individuals have applied to terminate employment in occupied territories, the Economy and Environment Ministry reported, referencing data from the State Employment Service. The Digital Transformation Ministry has expressed plans to broaden the scope of digital services accessible through the Diia platform, which includes provisions for training grants and retraining assistance.

Obrii serves as a digital ecosystem for Ukraine's labor market, co-developed by the Economy and Environment Ministry and the Digital Transformation Ministry, with the State Employment Service overseeing its operation. In June, the two ministries initiated registration for closed beta testing of the initial tools in the Obrii ecosystem.

The total cost for development and integration over the current and subsequent years is projected to range from $5 million to $10 million.
