Cristiano Ronaldo made a triumphant return to action with a goal and his signature celebration, Siuuu, as fans of Al Nassr rallied behind the Portuguese star following a recent controversy. The 41-year-old faced a difficult period after disagreements with Portugal coach Jorge Jesus, but he was greeted with a powerful message from Al Nassr supporters on Friday night.
Before their Saudi Pro League match against Al Diriyah at Al Awwal Park in Riyadh, fans displayed a large banner featuring Ronaldo's famous CR7 logo and the message "Greatness is earned." Throughout the game, fans chanted his name, including in the seventh minute, in honor of his iconic shirt number. Ronaldo scored his 980th career goal just 23 minutes into the match, celebrating with his trademark gesture to the delight of the home supporters.
The milestone brings him closer to his goal of 1,000 goals, with only 20 more to achieve. Despite the recent turmoil with Portugal, Al Nassr fans remain firmly behind their captain, confident in his ability to score goals at 41 years old.
