Chargers Injury Report: Quentin Johnston, Derwin Hames OUT vs. Broncos

The Los Angeles Chargers are set to face the Denver Broncos in Week Five, but will be without several key players due to injuries. Safety Derwin James will miss his second consecutive game, leading to Tony Jefferson starting in his place. Right tackle Joe Alt and cornerback Donte Jackson will also sit out this week, while rookie receiver Brenen Thompson is also ruled out.

Quarterback Trey Lance will also miss this week due to injury. In addition, wide receiver Quentin Johnston, offensive guard Kayode Awosika, and guard Trevor Penning will not play. Frontline questions include whether tight end Charlie Kolar, who is listed as questionable, will return and whether veteran guard Scott Matlock will start at left guard.

If Matlock does not play, the Chargers may have to start four rookies at left tackle, left guard, center, and right tackle.
