‘You will think it’s new’ — Odumeje knocks FG for celebrating Onitsha Bridge

Prophet Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, widely known as Odumeje, has criticized the Federal Government for celebrating the recent rehabilitation of the first River Niger Bridge. In a video on social media, he expressed his disdain for how the government is treating the bridge as if it were newly constructed. Odumeje questioned the government's decision to showcase the facility online, arguing that it gives the impression of a brand-new bridge when, in reality, it is an old structure.

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, had previously stated that the bridge would be adorned with pictures of President Bola Tinubu upon completion, a statement that has been met with criticism from various Nigerians. Odumeje warned that those who celebrate the bridge in Onitsha Head Bridge might be punished by the Holy Ghost, citing the lack of conscience in Nigeria.

He compared the celebration to someone celebrating their car that they have owned for over 50 years after giving it a paint job. The Onitsha Bridge, connecting Onitsha in Anambra State and Asaba, the capital of Delta State, serves as a vital link between the Eastern part of the country and the South and the West.
