Why did you not stop them’ — VDM challenges Arome over Boko Haram claims

Social media commentator VeryDarkMan has taken issue with Apostle Arome's assertion that he spent four years and six months in Boko Haram territory and evangelized there through open-air crusades. During a sermon, Arome maintained that his team held annual crusades in a Boko Haram stronghold, recounting instances when members ventured into the area at night despite Arome's warnings, ultimately being captured by the insurgents.

In response to Arome's claim, VeryDarkMan questioned the ongoing Boko Haram attacks if the crusades had been successful. He remarked, "You are going further to show that you are not a true man of God, and you are just a liar. How? If you have done crusade there with the power you claim you have, till tomorrow Boko Haram will still be attacking people, killing people.

So why did you not stop them?" VDM also demanded proof of the alleged crusades, stating that he had never seen a flyer for an event in a Boko Haram-controlled area. "We have never, never seen a flyer of your crusade in Boko Haram territory," he emphasized. He argued that organizing a crusade in a relatively safe part of Borno State differed significantly from entering a "red zone" controlled by Boko Haram insurgents.

VDM challenged Arome to publicly announce a crusade in the red zone and share the details publicly. "Your next crusade in the red zone, please make it known... Let’s all share the flyers. I would like to be present online... Let’s just stream live," he proposed. He further questioned the necessity of the military's involvement in combating the insurgency if Arome possessed the spiritual prowess he claimed.
